Our Mission

We at Finca Maravilla are dedicated to building a beautiful and sustainable future for all of our children.

We have a 200 year plan, not a 5 year one, to honor the many generations to come who will receive the results of the labors that our generation bequeaths them.

We have a commitment to the land that we are blessed to steward, love, and caretake, and a commitment to the planet that we call home.

We are energy independent, and aim to be entirely off-grid by the end of 2019 (with a full rain-catchment and grey water system, and satellite internet).

We aim to share skills, presence, food, learning opportunities, creative space, and self-empowerment with children and their families, in natural, respectful, healing, and accepting ways, that honor individuality, and offer a sense of safety, dependability, and constancy, in rapidly changing and unpredictable times.

We believe that the current systems of work, education, and general life are broken, based on out-dated beliefs and patterns that have been deeply ingrained in our lives by the norms, values, and needs of an industrial society.  In order to change our current world, we have to change the foundational beliefs on which we create our reality.

Through community building, educational programs, and the simple act of trying to live in harmony with our planet, we are trying to affect change, one life at a time.
